Dr. Michelle Moyd is Ruth N. Halls Associate Professor in the Department of History at Indiana University, Bloomington. Her research interests are in eastern Africa and the history of colonial soldiers and warfare.

PD Dr. Stefanie Michels is a historian at the University of Düsseldorf with an interest in German colonial history taken from the angle of African history.
